AFAL's Growth ruling and the 1994 field at 144; the fourth seat named; the Diary published and the Records Hub made the one web view with an interactive 4-week graph

AFAL Growth reparameterised (D197): rule s7 becomes scale_i = Growth^(i/(Count-1)), so Growth is the total end-to-tip ratio and Population leaves the exponent. Implemented in AFAL Studio v3_010 and validated in Blender (F047, 5/5 checks). Closed A0018.
The fourth GAAD seat named Code Technician (D198): Claude Code works locally at the bench under the Specification Owner's spec, builds and verifies and drafts, never files. The daily handover pipeline (bench drafts -> Miles carries -> Specification Owner files) ran its first real load: D199, D200, F046-F051, Q041, Q042, A0024, A0025 all filed from the 24 Jul bench zip.
The 1994 Growth Generator became a parametric instrument with a 144-form field, per-rule ranges and NATURE presets (F049, F050); the arithmetic-vs-geometric finding (the GG adds where nature multiplies) filed as candidate T1 for A0020.
The Diary published (D184): diary.html in the Episodes format, personal diary leading with the technical diary linked per day, month/day-chip index. Diary added to the nav beside Episodes. Seven days live; five drafts held pending Miles's edit.
Records Hub made the single web record view (D201): the six per-type timeline pages retired to hash-preserving redirects; homepage graph dots and stat cards point at the Hub with deep-linking (#ID, #type=key, #day=&type=).
The records graph became an instrument: a 4-week window with dots sized by each day's landing count, a hover preview listing every record's id and title in gold, click-through to the Hub filtered to that day and type, and touch support for mobile.
Site-wide wobble fixes (scrollbar-gutter, font-display:optional, matched hero heights, chip scroll-margin). Website published progressively 1_040 through 1_044; T031 open for a residual grid-vs-plain column jump.

AFAL grows from one behaviour to five, gains gravity, modules, memory and crossover, and the 1994 Growth Generator runs again

Changes

D196 rules that AFAL focuses on the SINGULARITY: AFAL answers one question, what geometry appears for a parameter vector at a stage location, and the grid, generations, lineage, selection and champions stay GAAD's, exactly as they do for PRAL and TWAL. The 12x12 world is demoted to an optional test harness. This settles the question left open on 22 Jul: AFAL is a general growth framework whose first validated behaviour is the spiral, not the spiral language. It is also the shortest route off the T4 ceiling, because a connector only ever needs one stage.
P069 records the 1994 Growth Generator running again, rebuilt from Miles's MSc thesis Digital Evolutions and transcribed from Fig 2.17, Fig 2.18 and the AutoLISP appendix rather than remembered. First run drew 71 blocks from seed 1, matching a pure-Python simulation of the listing made before any Blender code existed. GAAD has called itself a rebirth of the 1994 thesis in every record since the first; this is the first time the 1994 work has RUN. F045 banks the feature.
P067 records the whole-world mutation scrub: one slider moving all 144 stages, each from its own banked baseline along its own seeded direction. It closes the language file's PROPOSED item 'mutation replay' by making mutation deterministic in baseline, seed and strength, which the original unseeded mutation never was. P068 records the turn to the singularity and names that it corrected the Specification Owner.
AFAL Studio, now afal_prototype_v3_009.py under D149 naming and banked into Prototype/, went from one behaviour to five: spiral, shell (the honest logarithmic spiral, radius and module both following growth to the power of index, so the form is self-similar), phyllotaxis (golden-angle packing, with Rotate as a deviation from 137.5 degrees rather than a replacement), cone and hyperboloid (the first non-biological species, with Growth reinterpreted as the waist ratio). All five share one tail, which makes F044's shared behaviour interface real. Every formula was verified numerically outside Blender before it was sent.
Gravity, Species and Module ride their own engine sockets AFTER the six genes and are excluded from mutation and crossover, because they are world conditions rather than genes. Gravity rests a form's lowest point on z=0 or centres it on the origin, implemented as a rule about the form's extent so a negative rise stays meaningful. Crossover added: bank two parents, blend every gene between them, and the mutation scrub rides on top, so the order is cross then mutate.
D195's records-renderer fix, the module shapes, the eight memory slots and six nature presets, and the panel stripped of prose into tooltips all landed the same day.
Six new actions filed, A0018 to A0023, naming what today left open: what Growth should mean, the language file being behind the engine, T1 research for the bench species, the surface topology that a panel system needs, AFAL's missing assert contract, and Episode 6.
HONEST NOTE: four blocks of code were silently deleted across the session by edit scripts replacing slices between anchors, and three versions were sent that would not register in Blender. All were recovered in v3_008 and v3_009. A precise undefined-name scan and a stub-Blender import harness now run before any Blender script is sent, because compiling proves nothing.

Changes

AFAL (Architectural Form) born and taken to T4 in a day: D188 birth (split from ARAL, one rung per language), D189 T1 research verified, D190 rules formalised from ChatGPT's AFAL Studio v0.2.3, D191 promoted to T4. Deterministic growth spiral, parametric not emergent. Language file v0_001 to v0_004. F044 roadmaps further growth behaviours; P066 banks the milestone.
A0014 corrected: the renderer it named, gaad_spec_render, is a phantom that exists nowhere in the bundle. The name was written into the record and echoed in gaad_releases.json and release.txt. Corrected in A0014; the two release-log echoes left for Miles's ruling on editing history.
The architecture.html readiness ladder (D192) and stack diagram language band (D193) now GENERATE from the language files: generate_language_ladder.py and generate_stack_langs.py. AFAL appears in both with no hand-editing; neither figure can drift from its caption.
The language renderer is built (D194): generate_language_html.py renders any Languages/*.json to its branded 18-section page. AFAL's page generated and linked. A0014 part done.
Records bug fixed (D195): string options_considered char-split on the standalone decisions page and in markdown; both now handle string or list.
Website publish cut to 1_038 (deployable): counts seven/two, graph and cards current, AFAL card linked, both figures generated. Live site behind the bundle (A0010).

Housekeeping cut. Same content as 0_138 with three stragglers retired, all three found by the Architecture Reviewer reading the 0_138 bundle within the hour.

Changes

GAAD_GRAL_v0_021_Language_File.md retired to Languages/Superseded. Left behind by the 17 Jul migration, which moved .json and .html for all six languages - GRAL was the only language that also had an .md, and the move never named it. v0.022 has no .md because none of the six do; GRAL's was a legacy outlier from when it was the only language file.
GALF v0_04 and v0_05 contract editions retired to Spec/Superseded. Only v0_007 had been moved, so two older editions were sitting at Spec/ root beside the current v0_008 - the stale-publish trap inside the bundle. Two prototypes cite 'GAAD_GALF_v0_05 (galf_version 0.005)' in their headers: those are conformance statements about which edition they were built against, not file paths, and they are left alone.
GAAD_GALF_v0_01_NASA_Systems_Engineering_Benchmark retired to Spec/Superseded. Two NASA benchmarks existed at the same version under different names with different titles. No ruling was needed: GAAD_LIBRARY.md had already ruled it - keep SE_Benchmark, which Q028, the releases and the records all cite, retire the long name - and the resolution had simply never been carried out. HANDOVER.md's single reference repointed to the canonical file; the library entry now records the resolution rather than proposing it.
GAAD_INTEGRITY_CHECK_2026-07-09.md left untouched: it is a dated snapshot that correctly recorded the duplicate as open on 09 Jul. Records are not rewritten to match the present.

0_138 GALF v0.008: base relationship vocabulary, 18 sections normative, all six languages migrated 17 Jul 2026

The contract and the languages finally speak the same language. GALF v0.008 writes the base relationship vocabulary it had always demanded and never carried, makes the 18 sections normative, and all six languages move onto that spine in one day.

Changes

GALF v0.008 CUT (D186). Base relationship vocabulary: ten types with definitions - contains, is_a, belongs_to, assembles_into, defines, controls, occupies, becomes, uses, supports. Extras declarable per language. Retired: has, holds, 'is one of'. Closes T030, which found that amendment A3 ruled triples validate against a base vocabulary that was never written.
Section addressing NORMATIVE: a language carries all 18 sections by code s1-s18, each holding content or stating unknown. Never omitted. x_ extensions stop being the home for content a section owns. Research does not live in a language file (D170).
All six languages migrated, nothing lost, proved key by key: FWAL 0.009 (18/18, Required 11/11), ARAL 0.002 (16/18, 11/11), MHAL 0.007 (11/18, 7/11), TWAL 1.001 (10/18, 8/11), PRAL 0.003 (8/18, 6/11), GRAL 0.022 (5/18, 4/11). Old versions retired to Languages/Superseded.
MHAL v0.007 is the pilot: s1 Mission written (it had never said why it exists), research extracted per D170, conforms_to corrected from a contract superseded five days before the file was cut.
Episode 5 'Meet the team' published with the team diagram and a LinkedIn post.
Website discoverability layer (D185): share cards on every page, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, branded 404, canonicals, JSON-LD. Google Search Console verified, sitemap green at 26 pages.
Actions are a record type (A codes, four digits). Records/gaad_actions.json, NOT published to the website. gaad_validate.py v0.5. Every technical diary now carries the open actions table above its end.
MHAL prototype v1_015: D181 applied - the frame test was in TWO places, not the one line the note claimed. Midtown East builds from city data by default at offset 0. Proved in Blender by Miles.
Aerial abandoned (A0009) with the reason recorded: NYS imagery is 12-inch standard ortho, so towers lean and roofs sit off their footprints. NYC has true ortho but ships it as tiles only.
Two Claude errors found and corrected the same day, next to the original claims: FWAL was reported as having no relationships (it has eleven, in four-element rows carrying a rationale), and no language was said to declare its extras (three of six do).
Website 1_034 cut and NOT uploaded. The live site remains 1_018 - accepted drift (A0010).

A hard evening too - seventeen addon versions, several fixing the previous guess - which banked D161: no release without tracing the change against the assert contracts.

An orientation-and-capture session. Turned the growing bundle into a navigable Library, built a single human front door, ran a full integrity check, and captured the day as a linked daily session log. TWAL language + prototype and the GAAD Language Connector authored as a ringfenced standalone (D144).

A follow-up cut: the NASA Systems Engineering benchmark of GALF is captured into Spec/ (Q028) - thirteen of GALF's sixteen sections map directly onto NASA SE concepts, while Design Memory, Knowledge Status and Honest Geometry have no NASA equivalent. The homepage records graph and stat counters are now GENERATED from the records JSON by build_records_graph.py (CURRENT_ACTIONS item 5 commissioned): the last-2-weeks window rolls automatically and counters never go stale. Website publish 1_005 cut with the 08 Jul records on the graph and all thirteen record pages refreshed.

0_125 Validate Scripts proven, GALF agreed, three languages conformant 08 Jul 2026

F030 Validate Scripts delivered and proven (first clean run 18/18, P051) - one button drives every command through the shared assertion library, with Demo Run, Pause/Step/Stop, timing and a written report. The proving run caught two real bugs on its way to clean (ghost-gold, T019; silent Navigator Report, T020). GALF, the Architectural Language Contract, was agreed by all three seats (D140), taken under Specification Owner stewardship (D142), and PRAL, GRAL and MHAL now conform to it in the new top-level Languages/ folder (D143). GRAL is the first Architectural Language built on the contract (D141, Q027, P052).

Isolator scene (F004 reworked, D137): a third peer scene beside Generator and Navigator - the selected stage LINKED into GAAD Isolator, no scene mutation, own HUD; the old visibility-toggle restore machinery deleted.

The afternoon and evening of the Backtrack build day - everything after the 0_123 cut, all runtime-proven by Miles. The Backtrack engine went live end to end (addon v0_94, generator v0_47 replay engine, D133 flow: Navigator as Track decision point, gold commit, replay never mutation) and the genetic array rendered multiple generative strings 32 years after Fig 3.29 - P050, verdict 'WOW WOW WOW!'. T018 (Navigator dead against v0_46 data) found by testing and fixed by tree v0_8. The Navigator then matured fast: F028 state colours (red dead ends, gold current champion, tips hidden), F029 circular discs (D134: square is where design happens, circle is where design is remembered), Navigator connectors east-to-north quadrant points trimmed at circumference with GAAD north at top, discs circumscribed and sized from each stage's stored world, pitch derived from the largest disc (tangent 1994 chain). Bauhaus joined Colour/Grey as a third live palette. The Backtrack (F006) build day - classic GAAD's missing half begins. The 1994 thesis chapter was reread page by page (Figs 3.14-3.29) and its findings folded into F006; the Lineage Storage Specification v0.01 was written BEFORE code (spec first - the storage is the load-bearing wall, Q026). Generator v0_46 ships the foundation: a flat Generations/ set of lineage.json (strings, pivots, current_position, global creation index) plus s{string}_g{generation}.json stage files, caps 9 strings x 99 generations, honest boundary warnings, archive-on-First-Generation, pivot selections that never overwrite history (D132). Addon v0_93 adds the Backtrack button to EVOLVE under Next Generation (the 1994 Track gate live, progenitor warning verbatim) and a development guard disabling Rapid Stage Select for the F006 build. The interaction model was agreed: the Navigator is the Track decision point, the button commits, selection never does (D133). Terminology gained the lineage vocabulary (generative string, pivot, lineage array, preserved string). Three anchor quotes captured (Q024 atoms of the memory, Q025 vocabularies vs grammar, Q026 load-bearing wall) and Episode 4 planned with a reflections bank and the lineage array diagram. GAAD's public site grew from a single page into a small site - new Episodes and About pages, a mobile hamburger menu, a reordered nav, the hero lineage relabelled to Selection with a white latest-generation dot, and the LinkedIn button wired - with the site source folded into the bundle under /Website and publish 1_002 prepared for deploy. On the records side the Hub gained a dedicated Date column, every D/P/T/F/Q reference became a live link to its record, and each Technical Specification section now carries its own date. Records advanced to D131 (126 decisions), all regenerated from JSON and validated.

Changes

Website publish versioned on its own 1_### line (D128): filename standard gaad_website_publish_#_###, independent of the 0_### bundle. The 06 Jul go-live is 1_001; this session's package is 1_002 (prepared, not yet deployed).
Records Hub - Date column (D129): a dedicated Date column now sits immediately after ID, lifted out of the Status badges at the single JS row-render choke point (normalisers untouched). The biggest single-day cut of the Rebirth. Addon v0_91 hardened and CLOSED T015, the highest-priority open defect (Rapid Stage Select watcher, D125, runtime-confirmed by Miles). The GAAD brand matured to v1.2: the logo was agreed (solid gold deltas base-on-baseline at cap height; lockup a white rule with a centred gold node trimmed to the wordmark, P049), a /Brand folder joined the bundle with PNG and SVG masters plus a hi-res export tool, and all 13 record HTML pages were rebranded with the embedded logo linking home (D127). The records HTML was restructured around the flat-table-with-category-filter-buttons pattern (audit, Records Hub, Hub terminology view; features newest-first, D126). GAAD's first public website was built and went LIVE at 4bim.com/gaad with the records browsable online - Miles's first-ever deployment - and Q023 captured the day: three weeks of Rebirth surpassing three decades of dreams. Records stand at D127 / P049 / Q023 / T017 / F026; open tickets down to six.

Addon v0_91 (T015 CLOSED, D125): the Rapid Stage Select msgbus watcher is now self-healing - one shared _gaad_rapid_rearm() (clears the busy flag, re-subscribes) runs on undo_post / redo_post, at the end of Reset GAAD Platform, on file load, and when the toggle is switched ON as a manual recovery; the busy flag is timestamped and self-clears after a 2 s timeout so it can never wedge. Runtime-confirmed: Rapid survives Navigator visits, Reset and undo/redo.

The v2_7 panel direction was built into the live addon and then evolved through hands-on testing with Miles into the EVOLVE working hub: a LANGUAGE section with the Architectural Language radio (PRAL / GRAL / MHAL, D123) and Objects inside it, an always-active Colour pair that live-recolours the world AND Navigator at any generation via the new shared gaad_palette.py, one Show / Hide Labels toggle, MUTATION as a sub-section, scene jumps and Collapse All on an always-visible top row with Reset GAAD Platform beneath, and a two-line STATUS. Two bugs closed: stale stage platforms accumulating on grid / size changes (suffix-tolerant global sweeps), and Show Labels returning nothing in the Navigator. The Navigator now honours the Colour mode (T016 colour half). The panel mock-up line is retired - the live panel is the spec of record (D124).

Everything since 0_113, cut on Opus. The VIEW stage tools were hardened and extended: Isolate Stage resolves the stage from a shared property and can no longer silently do nothing, pressing a stage tool disarms Rapid Stage Select first, the Stage button is a red self-labelling toggle, and a new Present Stage button renders one stage to a clean PNG in a new Image folder (F025). The addon and generator headers were trimmed to a Release Notes pointer (about 840 lines out), and a duplication pass removed a dead records-generator path and corrected stale build docs. Also folded in: the earlier panel reorg, Rapid Stage Select, and the generator speed, Colour and Stage Size work that had not yet been released.

Stage id labels move off the generation path to an on-demand VIEW toggle, and the per-stage geometry is now bpy.ops-free, cutting 9x9 generation from ~9s toward ~4s and lower. The empty preview no longer clips, is stripped of the default Cube/Camera/Light, and frames the whole grid. The D112 automation is complete: cut_bundle.py cut this bundle.

Per-stage generation geometry is bpy.ops-free (generator v0_38): the stage surface is built via from_pydata like the buildings, removing the per-stage scene re-evaluations - so 9x9 no longer pays a per-stage tax. (D116, T012)
First-run scene is clean and framed (generator v0_37, addon v0_77): the startup Cube/Camera/Light are stripped at generation and in the preview; the view centres and frames all stages. (T014)

Static check v0.7: lean-panel expectations plus a Blender-runtime section (run from the Integrity Check button) validating the live panel, operators, scene props, and that removed props stay gone.

0_111 Release notes restart: JSON is the single source of truth 03 Jul 2026

The release-notes record restarts fresh from today. gaad_releases.json is now authoritative; release.txt and gaad_releases.html are generated from it, ending the long-standing divergence. Prior version history (0_022 through 0_110) remains preserved in the 0_111 archive bundle.

Release-notes system reset: gaad_releases.json reseeded from today as the single source of truth, with release.txt and gaad_releases.html regenerated from it in lockstep.
Panel v2_3 is the current UI (addon v0_72): Stage Size at the panel foot with a live NxN platform preview, language quick-select and rescued Objects picker in CREATE, Orthogonal terse under Evolution Rules, DESIGN LANGUAGE section removed.
Generator v0_35 fixed the silent 6x6 to 9x9 grid degradation (T011).
Efficiency tooling begun (D112): pre-handover validator and a one-command records build, moving deterministic MD and HTML generation out of chat and into the code sandbox.
