ARAL Language File
Primitive -> Transform -> Repeat ...and emergence begins. Select visual Language Seeds that generate excitement and invite continuation; reduce each to primitives, simple rules and parameters; rebuild, mutate and evolve them into new work. Serve as a GAAD re-test bed: a fast environment for producing complex form from simple rules across one Stage or one hundred Stages, selecting parents click-click-click, generating children through multiple depths, preserving every parameter, mutation and decision. Begin with reconnection, not imitation: the reference case is the author's own thirty-year investigation into how much complexity can emerge from very little.
16 of 18 sections carry content. Required: 11 of 11. The rest state unknown, which is the point: an empty section is an answer, silence is not.

Mission
REQUIRED · PRESENT- Primitive -> Transform -> Repeat ...and emergence begins.
- Select visual Language Seeds that generate excitement and invite continuation; reduce each to primitives, simple rules and parameters; rebuild, mutate and evolve them into new work.
- Serve as a GAAD re-test bed: a fast environment for producing complex form from simple rules across one Stage or one hundred Stages, selecting parents click-click-click, generating children through multiple depths, preserving every parameter, mutation and decision.
- Begin with reconnection, not imitation: the reference case is the author's own thirty-year investigation into how much complexity can emerge from very little.
s2
Requirements
REQUIRED · PRESENT- R1: Every ARAL work descends from a declared Language Seed; the seed is recorded, never implied.
- R2: Inheritance of process, never reproduction - a seed's rules may be mutated and evolved; its artwork is not copied.
- R3: Every parameter, mutation and selection is stored - decisions become data (GAAD founding principle).
- R4: Knowledge honesty per GALF s18 - confidence is recorded with every fact; testimony, approximation and extraction are flagged as such.
- R5: ARAL does not mix concerns with other languages (D154) - architectural rules stay in PRAL and its siblings.
s3

Terminology
REQUIRED · PRESENTterminology
| item | term | meaning |
|---|
| 1 | Language Seed | A selected artwork treated as a starting point: reduced to primitives, rules and parameters, then mutated and evolved. |
| 2 | Frame | One cube subtracted from another so only the edges remain - the 2024 discovery, ARAL's signature primitive (planned). |
| 3 | Emergence | Complexity arising from simple rules repeated - the quality ARAL selects for. |
| 4 | Gravity (F034) | World property. ON draws the stage and grounds forms; OFF removes the stage and composes freely around the world origin. |
| 5 | Orientation-free solid | A primitive with no up (cube, sphere) - the only shapes permitted in free space. |
| 6 | Behaviour | An animated work read as a moving parameter space - each frame one valid state, emergence unfolding. |

Hierarchy
REQUIRED · PRESENT| item | detail |
|---|
| text | World (gravity state) -> Plan (seed + recorded decisions) -> Stage (one generation) -> Objects (primitive instances) |
| note | Seed-level. Inherited from the proven PRAL prototype structure; ARAL-specific levels (e.g. a Seed register above Plan) are future work. |
s6
Relationships
REQUIRED · PRESENT| item | type | meaning |
|---|
| 1 | derived_from_seed | A plan descends from a declared Language Seed. |
| 2 | parent_of / child_of | Lineage between generations - the replayable evolutionary record. |
| 3 | composed_with | Objects sharing a stage; clearance governed by the Collisions/Harmony setting. |
| 4 | migrated_from | Inheritance across languages at a split (gravity and sphere migrated from the PRAL line, D154). |
- ARAL declares relationship types (derived_from_seed and others) but states NO TRIPLES. s6 is Required and asks for typed triples, so this section is declared but not answered.

language seed method
| item | detail |
|---|
| definition | A Language Seed is a selected artwork treated as a starting point, not an object of admiration. |
| decisive test | Can I imagine taking its rules, mutating them and developing my own version? |
bias
Computational geometry, recursion, repetition, transformation, subdivision, controlled randomness, emergence. Systems where the algorithm remains visible - where the viewer could almost reconstruct the rules from the outcome.
first seed
Thesis section 2.4, 3D insertions (Digital Evolutions, 1994) - ARAL's first Language Seed build: some classic GAAD 1994, with rebirth injections. Direction set by Miles, 12 Jul 2026. The wider thesis outputs and the 2024 frame experiments remain the seed reservoir. See gaad_msc_contents_v0_001 (Spec/).

Rules
REQUIRED · PRESENTrules
- Orientation-free rule: with gravity OFF only orientation-free solids (cube, sphere) may compose, at every level - panel, roll pool, mutation, conformance. A gravity-off plan holding a grounded shape FAILS conformance (proven by the planted-dome test, 11 Jul 2026).
- Gravity ON preserves the thirty-two-year discipline: forms stand on the ground; the stage is drawn.
- Languages do not mix (D154).
- The grammar sequence governs generation: seed -> primitives -> mutate -> children -> select -> repeat -> store.
grammar
| item | detail |
|---|
| sequence | seed -> primitives -> mutate -> children -> select -> repeat -> store |
| gravity | F034 is ARAL's: gravity ON draws the stage and grounds the forms; OFF removes the stage and composes freely around the world origin (offset_z_m gene recorded for exact replay). |
| inheritance | Mutation honours the parent's recorded gravity; the grammar preserves every parameter, mutation and decision - decisions become data. |
- Was rules and grammar: the orientation-free rule and the seed-to-champion sequence.

Validation
REQUIRED · PRESENT- Prototype conformance checker: enforces the orientation-free rule and sphere roundness through evolution (live in aral_prototype_v1_001, inherited from the v1_008-v1_010 line).
- Headless proofs banked on the parent line: gravity-ON parity across 5 seeds x 4 modes; gravity-OFF determinism, bounds and conformance across 5 seeds; Harmony mutation soak 3x5 generations.
- At graduation: house trio, GALF registry entry, and Validate Scripts steps per the F030 rule (every feature adds its step).
- Ratification path: Chief Architect approval, then Architecture Reviewer (ChatGPT) review - the D140 three-seat process.
s14
Memory
REQUIRED · PRESENT- ARAL was born 11 Jul 2026 (D154) by splitting the PRAL prototype line at v1_010: gravity (F034) and the sphere migrated to ARAL; PRAL reset to its five 1994 primitives. Principle: languages do not mix.
- ARAL's purpose was found 12 Jul 2026 (P060): a five-hour artist-gallery survey ended in the rediscovery that the reference case was the author's own thirty-year investigation. Reconnection, not imitation.
- The session nearly cost an England-Norway match while the thesis was being found - the detour WAS the discovery.
- Foundational statement: Primitive -> Transform -> Repeat ...and emergence begins.
- The open question that started it all: 'I wonder what happens if...'

v0.002 17 Jul 2026
v0.002 (17 Jul 2026): the file takes the GALF spine - all 18 sections present by code, each carrying content or stating unknown (D186, Miles's word). Nothing invented, nothing lost: content moved to the section that owns it, anything needing a ruling carried whole under 'unshelved'. conforms_to corrected to GALF v0.008, the contract that requires this spine and carries the base relationship vocabulary. Previously GALF v0.007.
- ARAL is at v0.001 and carries no change history: nothing to move here.

ARAL accepts first-person testimony from the Chief Architect as verified for events of his own practice (total provenance), per GALF s18. Dates qualified in the source ('approximately') stay Approximate. Artefacts not yet in the bundle are Extractable, not assumed.
open questions
- Name expansion of ARAL (Miles's call at graduation).
- The reference case is the Chief Architect's own work - a first for GAAD. Legitimate by total provenance; awaiting the conscious nod from all three seats (ChatGPT ratification of the research expected).
- Resolution axis 'Emergence' is proposed, not ratified.
- Frame primitive wall-thickness parameter (D153 dimensional standard applies).
- x_ prefix convention for ARAL's extra sections (language_seed_method, primitives, grammar, open_questions) - FWAL and MHAL prefix theirs; ARAL's are plain. Miles's call.
- Was x_knowledge_policy and open_questions: ARAL accepts first-person testimony from the Chief Architect.
